NOTICES 31 MARCH 2024

Festival Eucharist

This morning our choir will be accompanied by strings, trumpet and oboe.  After the service, while the children enjoy their Easter egg hunt, the adults are invited to enjoy a glass of fizz.  Our Easter reception will be held at the back of church and we invite you to celebrate the festival with us.  Donations of £1 for a glass of fizz will be gratefully received in the pot on the refreshments table.

St John’s Choir

Our thanks to Nick Miller, Ben Collyer, our volunteer choir members, our choral scholars and visiting musicians for providing us with such excellent music this morning and throughout Lent.  Nick and the choir will be away the following Sunday, enjoying a well-earned rest.  During the choir’s break, we shall use our folk tunes mass setting.  The choir will return on Sunday, 14th April.

A Big Thank You

Thank you to those that have helped to make the church look so festive this morning through donations to the Easter flowers and helping to clean and prepare the church for today’s services.  Thank you also to those who have helped with catering for this morning’s reception and with the children’s activities this morning and on Good Friday.

Congratulations

Congratulations to all those who were baptized during the Easter ceremonies this morning: Elle Christianson Lopez and Sylvester Cardorelle.  Please do congratulate them after the service if they have managed to stay awake and make the reception.

The Big Breakfast!

Damon Greeney and Leo Malkin deserve a big thank you for doing us so proud this morning, preparing a nourishing breakfast to accompany our champagne after celebrating the dawn of Easter morning at the early service.

Services This Coming Week

There will be no Sunday nor evening mid-week services this week.  There will also be no 8am service next Sunday, 7th April.  Normal services will resume on Monday, 8th April.

Office Closure

The parish office will be closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  It will reopen at 9.00am on Thursday.

St John’s Book Club

St John’s Book Club met recently to discuss The Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham, which was a popular choice.  Their next meeting will be on the 8th April and the book choice is Scarborough by Canadian author Catherine Hernandez.  For further information about the book club, please speak to Irwin Nazareth.
