St John’s has an Induction Loop System so if you have a hearing aid, please switch it to the ’T’ setting.
Gluten-free Communion Wafers
Gluten free wafers are available for those who suffer from a gluten allergy. Please speak to a priest before the service if you would like to receive one at communion.
Summertime Special Services
Our summer services are led by a cantor and musician and the mass setting is Folk Tunes, using familiar melodies for the Gloria and other sung parts of the service. Normal services resume again on Sunday, 1st September. This morning we are pleased to welcome Helen Lacey, soprano as cantor and as our guest musician, cellist Hannah Lewis.
Farewell, Ben Collyer
Ben Collyer, our organ scholar for the past two years, is moving on at the end of the summer to take up the post of Assistant Organist at St Alban’s Cathedral. His last Sunday will be 25th August. We thank him for his significant contributions to our music and worship via his musical gifts and wish him well in his future.

Celebrate!
Marking a special birthday? Celebrating an anniversary? Wanting to remember that special person? St John’s can help! To honour a loved one or to commemorate a special event, you can sponsor some music or flowers, have fizz & refreshments after the service - there are lots of possibilities. The Car Park
Following the death of a small child on a church carpark in Scotland, Team St John’s has produced a risk assessment relating to St John’s car park. The Vicar is hesitant for the return of ‘Clipboard Bill’ but feels that we should be aware of the dangers relating to the forecourt. We kindly ask that you use the footpaths when accessing the church and avoid cutting through the car park or walking in front of or behind vehicles. Also, children should not play in the car park at any time but only on the footpaths provided parents are keeping a watchful eye on them.
